MONK of www.MONKSCRAPPIE.com stated
that the spring crappie fishing has started on Lake Wateree. It
has been a good crappie season so far and it looks like it will
only get better as spring weather gets here. The fish seem to
be suspending about ten to fourteen foot down and as the water
warms should move shallow around docks and structure. He suggests
you slow troll Slider and Wow crappie mini-jigs. The best color
with the dirty water has been black and chartreuse, but try several
other colors as some days they want a change. Also crappies are
being caught drifting small minnows with multi-rods near the backs
of the bigger creeks in the upper part of the lake. Catfishing
seems to always be good using live shad, small pieces of shrimp
and cut bait close to bottom in 10 to 20 feet of water near the
Cedar Creek dam. You can order from his web site www.MONKSCRAPPIE.com
or call the cell number on his website.
