Ronnie & the rest of the crew at LOW COUNTRY MARINE
in Walterboro would like to wish all of its friends &
customers a save & prosperous New Year. The store is stocked
with all your hunting accessories, hunting clothing, guns, scopes,
ammo, camo, boots and more. Of course, no one has a better selection
of boats for the Low Country then Low Country Marine. Come by
& check out the great buys on Carolina Skiff, War Eagle &
many more boats that are rigged out & ready for the water.
Boat Show prices, all the time! Local sportsmen are out deer hunting
or into some Duck hunting. With the cooler weather and shorter
days the bigger bucks should be moving during the day. January
1st. & the close of another Deer Season is approaching. For
the Fisherman, the coastal creeks around Edisto Island are great
for lots of action. Spottail bass are hitting on mud minnows and
cut mullet worked near live oyster beds on the falling tide. Also
fish the deep holes on low tide. In the three local rivers, its
a great time to fish for bass, catfish and crappie. Bass can be
caught on Texas rigged worms and small crankbaits fished close
to structure near the bank. The catfish can be caught in deep
holes in the rivers using live and cut bait. Some crappie can
be caught using minnows.
The good folks at BLACK
WATER BAIT & TACKLE @ Jellico's Landing tell us really
big bucks are being taken in the local area around the Edisto
River & local hunters are looking forward to extra time off
during the holidays to chase down those big bucks. Of course the
Deer Season closes Jan. 1st. Huge catfish are still being taken
on the Edisto. Largemouth bass fish'n can be very productive this
time of year. Just remember to bring the bait back a bit slower
as they're a bit sluggish with the colder water temperature. Stop
by for your bait needs or just stop by & visit while you enjoy
a cold beer or soft drink. Happy New Year!
EDISTO OUTBOARD &
MARINE is located,
on Hwy 17A near Cottageville, [12053 Cottageville Hwy]. They are

WALTERBORO FEED &
GARDEN SUPPLY, INC.
on S. Jefferies blvd. has all of the necessary food & seed
supplies youll need. The hunters in the Low Country are
out in full force & are looking forward to the extra time
the holidays will provide. Of course the season with end on Jan.
1st. It will be time for the hunters to turn their attention to
Duck Hunting! "Be safe & good luck huntn &
fishn & have a safe & Happy New Year!"
When you take that huge
Buck & you're looking to preserve it as a lifetime trophy,
take it to FREDDY'S LOWCOUNTRY TAXIDERMY. Fred Avant does
some great work on his mounts. His shop is located just 5 miles
west of I-95 on Hwy 63 West of Walterboro. There is a sign on
the left side of the road. The area hunters are looking forward
to the time off from work that the holidays will provide, so they
can spend more time in the woods. Those big bucks are roaming
around & hopefully right into your gun or bow sight. Enjoy
some good Low Country Hunt'n & Fish'n during the holidays
& be safe in the woods!
Come on out & check
out the show room at PLANTATION MARINE in Walterboro or
in Moncks Corner or stop by their booth at the "Charleston
Boat Show" @ The North Charleston Coliseum in late Jan. Theyll
have large display of NauticStar boats, Pro Line & Triton
(Aluminum) boats. For you hunters, Plantation Marine handles a
large selection of Camo clothing & accessories. Theyre
having a huge clearance sale on their line of huntn clothing.
You can choose power by Honda, Suzuki & Tohatsu. Its
that time of year for some great Spottail Bass fishn now
that the waters have cooled down & cleared up. Look for the
Spottail Bass to be schooling in the flats, trying to stay in
warmer water. A sharp eye will spot them "Finning" in
the flats. Try a spoon tipped with a mud minnow & work it
very slowly. The fish are very lethargic just as we are in the
cold. Its a good time for gigging for flounder as the water
is much clearer this time of year. The Spots & Whiting fishn
has been great & Flounder are being taken on live shrimp,
mud minnows & fingerling mullet. For Trout, we recommend live
shrimp or grubs but water temperature needs to be at least in
the 50's. Tammy & William, wish all a very Happy New Year!
