Tom at INLET CONVENIENCE AND FISHING SUPPLIES (located at 4463 Hwy. 17 Bus. Murrells Inlet) tell us that in Murrells Inlet you need to fish the creeks and jetties on the warmer days. Spotted sea trout will be in the creeks until the water temperature gets less than fifty degrees and can be caught using artificial lures such as Mirrolures or grubs. Big red drum can be caught at the jetties when the winds are calm on live bait like mullet. The beach area is less crowded, so come on down and do some fishing and relaxing. Inlet Convenience and Fishing Supplies is a full service Bait Shop and also offers rod and reel repair.
In Conway at RICKS BAIT AND TACKLE, they are stocked up for bass fishermen. They have a large selection of plastic worms by Zoom, Culprit, Haw River and Net Baits. You need to check out the spinner baits and buzz baits by Waccamaw River Baits. For the pan fisherman, they have a great selection of Zebco reels, a huge selection of beetle spins, 110 different kinds of corks, and telescopic poles by Lil Jewel, Silstar and South Bend. They have crickets year around, green red worms, live shiners and more. Rick said the fishing has been good on the Waccamaw River using their worms and shiners. Rick's Bait and Tackle stays open Sunday to 3 pm. They sell fishing and hunting licenses and anything and everything you would ever need for a great day of fishing. Bring your catch and let them weigh it for you and get a picture.
FARMERS GRAIN & MILLING is located at 3167 County Line Road, Andrews and they offer the largest supply of live stock feed in the area. Farmers Grain & Milling has all the hunting and fishing supplies you would ever need. They have bait, tackle, rods, boots, camo, and a great selection of firearms, ammo, clothing for hunting or fishing, boating supplies and a lot more. They have deer corn, hay, fencing, horse supplies, dog crates, dog food, hardware, live stock feed and so much more. With hunting season here, get by and get what you need for the hunt.
FISHERMAN'S HEADQUARTERS in Conway (Hwy. 701 S.) specializes in all kinds of Bait. Jay offers Bass Minnows, Crappie Minnows (buy 2 doz and get 1 free), and Goldfish Minnows (year round). He has, Crickets, Worms (Buy 2 cups of worms and get 1 free), Shad, Live Eels and Cut Bait. They sell fresh catfish and shrimp. He stated that fishing has been good on the Waccamaw, Big Pee Dee and Little Pee Dee Rivers. Largemouth bass are being caught on large minnows and panfish are being caught on crickets and worms. The catfishing has been good, using cut shad and live eels (sold at our store), on the bottom. Fisherman's Headquarters opens at 5:30am - until 6pm, Monday thru Saturday. Jay offers tide charts and also host bass tournaments every Saturday, call for information. A lot of his customers have had a good hunting season. THE BAIT HOUSE located at 7113 South Island Road, Georgetown, is now open and supplying all your fish'n needs. The Bait House offers all kinds of bait, tackle, and supplies for a great day of fishing. They also have, Hotdogs, snacks, drinks, ice, boat supplies, wireless Internet, gas and more. BUCKSPORT PLANTATION MARINA & RESTAURANT is located at 135 Bucksport Road, Conway, SC, (0n the intercostal waterway). The Marina is expanding with 240 wet slips and rental slips are available (first come, first served). They have gas/diesel, a pump out station, laundry, showers and a store with everything you will need for a day out on the water. By water or land, come see and experience this unique marina. The restaurant is closed for the season. The store will be open Monday thru Friday 8am to 5pm, Saturday 8am to 2pm, Closed Sunday.
LYNN'S TAXIDERMY is located at 2167 Big Dam Swamp Drive off of Highway 41 North just outside of Andrews. Lynn moved into his new 1800 sq. foot shop in June and invites everyone to stop by and check out his work. Lynn is a member of the S.C. For you fisherman, Dale has night crawlers, red worms, fishing tackle and more. And for you hunters, he has all kinds of hunting supplies, ammo, scent lure, thermo cel and a lot more. Everything you need for a great day of fishing or hunting, cold beer, cold drinks, fresh coffee, snacks and the best Hot Dogs around. Dale has a great game room and mini storage units available.
THE PIER AT GARDEN CITY is a great place for all the family, to enjoy pier fishing, food, and arcade games. The Pier is 668 ft. long with a rain shelter at the end of the pier. The Pier at Garden City offers daily, weekly and season passes (Mar. 1- Dec. 31). They rent rods and reels and have all your popular baits. They are catching winter trout on shrimp, mud minnows and grubs. Red drum and a few spots are biting well on fresh or cut shrimp, artificial bloodworms, bloodworms or mullet. Pompano and whiting are being caught with live or cut bait. Flounder are being caught on mud minnows. Come have some fun!
