of the Lakes FISH CAMP (843-351-4561) even
with the lower water. We hear folks staying there have been getting
some real nice catches of catfish. There been reports of a few
stripers on the lakes, up near the dam on the upper lake and mostly
on the lower end of the lower lake. Be sure you know the limit
and length changes on stripers this year. Crappies are being caught
around brush in 10-15ft of water on minnows. Harry's Fish Camp
has great accommodations, a good restaurant, and a bait shop with
all of your bait needs. They have professional fishing guides
available and we recommend you get a guide for the best action.
They also have fishing piers available for their guests. Come

November 15-16, 2008 Hill's Landing on the Diversion Canal in Cross, S.C. held their 6th Annual Hill's Landing " BIG CAT" Catfish Tournament. Even with The National Weather Service in Charleston issuing a wind advisory for Santee Cooper Lakes on Friday, the 14th, with wind speeds expected to increase 25 to 35 miles an hour with gust up to 40 mph. and a cold front through Sunday, 28 teams blasted off Saturday morning. 1st Place Big Fish weighing in at 44.3 lbs. caught by Monty Hill. 2nd Place Big Fish went to Stan Pierce weighing in at 42.5 lbs. 3rd Place went to Steve Wood with a 42.0 lbs. catfish. John Guerin won 1st Place Total Weight with 246.2 lbs. Jerry Whitfield and his partner Jim Hall took 2nd Place Total Weight with .232.1 lbs. Monty Hill took 3rd Place Total Weight with 220.3 lbs. Josh Rose and his sister, McKinsey placed 1st and 2nd in the Youth Angler Awards with a 39.6 lbs. catfish and a 29.2 lbs. catfish. 3rd Place Youth Award went to Cody Van Berry with 21 lbs. 1st Place Lady Angler Velvet Miller, weighing in 33.3 lbs. The weather has cooled so fishing will be done in the morning, the afternoon or still at night. Both blues and flatheads are biting very well on cut bait. During the day they are holding deep in 25 to 40 feet. Bream are being caught on worms on the deepwater fish attractors. Duck season is here till almost the end of January(25th). Harris has a great selection of guns, scopes and hunting supplies in stock. If he doesn't have it in stock he will order it for you. Harris has several Browning's Model 525 shotguns in stock in various gauges. Browning and Weatherby's are his specialty. He also has a good selection of fishing tackle in stock.
