FOOTHILLS TAXIDERMY is a member of the South Carolina Association of Taxidermist and The National Association of Taxidermists. Foothills Taxidermy has been serving the public for 14 years. He graduated from The Carolina Safari School of Taxidermy in 1995. Foothills Taxidermy prides itself with customer service excellence and quality work that is completed in a timely manner. Karen at FINLEY’S TAXIDERMY located on Belhaven Road Extension in Belton reports some big racks have been brought in for mounting. Also, striper fishing must be picking up real good because some really big fish are coming in also. It is time for the duck hunters to start bringing in their prizes. Joe, Dora Lee, Kathy, Lynita and Karen wish you all a happy new year and look forward to seeing you in 2009.

WHITE JONES HARDWARE AND SPORTING GOODS located at Watson Village, Pruitt Shopping Center and on Hwy. 24 above the double bridge in Anderson reports most of the local deer hunters had a great time during the 2008 season. After deer season is over, there will be plenty of good hunting available for squirrels, rabbits and birds, along with an occasional wild hog, right up until Spring Turkey Season starts. For duck season, they have plenty of duck decoys, waders, steel shot and the Bismuth shot. It’s also time to get insulated boots and warm clothing. They carry the State Hunting License and State Stamp for you duck hunters. On the fishing on Hartwell and Russell some stripers and hybrids are being caught in the upper part free lining or drifting live bait. Also try jigging spoons in the mouths of the creeks where there is plenty of bait. They have plenty of new fishing tackle at all stores for the upcoming spring fishing season. Happy New Year to all.

On Hwy. 24 in Anderson Al at CAROLINA TRACTOR & MARINE has a great selection of Massey Ferguson and Mahindra tractors. They also sell boats by Sundance, Mc Kee Craft and Aloha. Now is a great time to get a tractor and get your land ready for the spring planting season.

Our customers have been catching some good bass fishing late in the afternoon on the warmer days reports Jerry at JERRY’S BAIT SHOP, located at 647 North Main street here in Belton. They have a good selection of ZOOM Trick and Finesse worms that are perfect for drop shot rigs. The drop shot really catches bass and spots off points and drops on Hartwell and Keowee. Plenty of live bait and minnows, are available for the crappie fishermen. They also have some fireworks on hand for your New year celebration. Black powder guns and hunting accessories are available for the hunters. Happy New Year to all.

At CHUCK'S TAXIDERMY & DEER PROCESSING Chuck has been real busy processing deer during the 2008 season. He now has Pop’s Rocky River Archery sharing his building. Chuck has nineteen years of experience doing taxidermy works. Come by his shop and check out some of the fine deer, turkey, ducks and fish on display.

Lake Hartwell is located in the NW corner of the State just
west of Anderson, SC, on the GA,SC, line. Water level
is maintained by the Hartwell Dam that spills into the Savannah River.
