The Upstate South
Carolina Boat Show,
one of the largest events of its kind in the state, is scheduled
for January 22nd -25th, 2009 . This is the premiere get
ready for spring selling season kickoff event for boat dealers,
and it begins at the Carolina First Center in Greenville. The
39th annual event features a vast array of Boats including; Fishing,
Pontoon, Speed, Ski, Cruisers, and Personal Watercraft. Also on
display will be boat docks, fishing equipment, fish camps, finance
and insurance vendors; everything you need to start the season

Johnny at PORTRONICS FISHING WORLD located at 1904 Piedmont
Hwy in Greenville. They have re-done the displays in the store
and added plenty of new fishing tackle, insulated bait tanks,
trolling motors, marine electronics. They have plenty of jigging
spoons and many types of custom spinnerbaits, plastic baits and
jigs. Dress for the colder weather and fish for stripers on the
upper part of Lake Murray and Lake Hartwell on the overcast days
when they should be top water schooling. Bucktails, shimmy shads,
jigging spoons, and top water plugs should work well cast into
the surface feeding areas. Stop by the store for information on
all upstate fishing tournaments coming this year. The Fish for

CHARLIES TAXIDERMY is located just off Hwy. 8,
east side of Pelzer, near the river at 12 Allen Street. Charlie
does a very good taxidermy job on deer, duck, small game, fish
and turkey. His show room has many examples of his work. Bring
the kids and look over the mounts. Attention Hunters! From October
1 to January 1 Charlies Taxidermy will have a deer contest
(not for biggest deer). Everyone has a chance to win. Bring your
deer head to be mounted at Charlies Taxidermy and receive
a ticket for the drawing.
The winter weather has
hit reports Don at MYERS TRIM SHOP located on North Church
Street here in Greenville. It is time to have a custom-built doghouse
installed on your boat, or a complete cover to protect the investment
in your boat that will be out in the inclement weather. He also
repairs the Jeep tops and seats on four-wheelers that you deer
hunters might have torn up during the season.
Butch at SEM GUNWORKS
AND TACKLE SHOP stated that some of his customers are out
duck hunting. SEM Gunworks and Tackle Shop is located at 403-D
North Poinsett Hwy, behind Coleman Ford in Travelers Rest. You
can stop by and sign up for the concealed weapons training and
certification. There is plenty of hunting equipment, guns and
ammo available, and there are plenty of the duck decoys whether
you need the small duck or goose decoys. Butch wants to wish everyone
a safe and happy new year and he looks forward to seeing all of
you in 2009.

down, but there are still plenty of critters to be hunted. We

scents and attractants. Winter is a good time to put out feeders
to keep wild game on your property. They sell castaway feeders
