Speckled Sea Trout are
biting in the area using grubs & mud minnows. Some good spots
to fish include, Parris Island, Daws Island & the Checheesse
River. Mud minnows are also working well for Spottail Bass. The
Reds can be found schooling in the shallows by looking for the
tails skimming the top of the water. It’s a great time to
fish them on the low tide. Black Drum to 8 pounds, on mud bottom,
in the surf or still being taken on shrimp & mullet. Good
Flounder fish’n can be had in the inlets, particularly in
moving water at the mouths of creeks. Live shrimp works best for
Flounder or with the water being very clear, it’s a great
time to try gigging. BEAUFORT BOAT & DOCK SUPPLY is
located on Ribaut Rd., in Port Royal. They’ve got lots of
friendly folks to help with decisions about bait, tackle &
hardware needs.
MIKE’S MARINE on Hwy. 21 in Seabrook, SC,
has bait & tackle along with clothing items by "Carhartt"
& many boating accessories. They're having a "Boat Show

will let go below cost! For the hunter; there is lots of boots,
camo-clothing, & ammo to choose from! For the fisherman, they’ve

WILD GAME DEER PROCESSING is located on Hwy. 17 / 21
about 5 miles between I-95 & Gardens Corner. Keep them in
mine when it's time to find a deer processor this Season, if you
want it done right. They vacuum seal your venison & along
with the basic processing they'll make fresh sausages, bacon burgers
or smoked items. Give them a try, you'll be glad you did. If your
game kill is a trophy or something you’d like to preserve
for a lifetime, turn it over to Leslie & have it mounted for
great memories. Leslie says they’ll be offering the same
quality in their taxidermy work, as they’ve been known for,
in deer processing. The 2007 Deer Season is coming to an end &

STORE & CAFE
in Yemassee on Hwy. 17 is a great place to stop in & do some
bragging about the one that got away or the one that didn’t,
while you enjoy something to eat & a cold drink. Try Spinner
baits & small Crank baits, retrieved & worked very slowly
or try a Carolina rigged Plastic worm, this time of year, for
some great Largemouth Bass action. They have a great selection
of Zoom worms & plenty of other bait & tackle to choose
from. For recreation, they have pool tables & video games.
By the way, the Sportsman Cafe is open & serving breakfast
& lunch. Stop in & give um’ a try.
The fish’n in the Low Country is still really good! Winter
waters are producing some really nice Spottail Bass catches. You’ll
fine the Reds schooling in the flats. Keep a sharp eye out for
the fins & cast past their location & retrieve slowly.
They’re looking for an easy meal this time of year. Trout
are being caught both on live shrimp & grubs but only when
the water temp is above 50 degrees. Now that the waters have cleared
up, it’s time to try some Flounder gigging. Stop by DRIFTWOOD
BAIT SHOP for your bait needs.
